l own a 2005 Mini Cooper. l have not had any problems with it, or so l think. When l accelerate from a stop my car seems to jolt forward until l reach about 20 mph or so. Friends have told me this is normal because l only have 4 cyclinders and therefore have a pretty slow acceleration rate. Is this normal or should l bring it to the dealer to get it checked out?

My second issue is the passenger airbag light that is centered above the windsheild. The light that indicates ''OFF'' seems to go on and off at random times.Sometimes the ''OFF'' light is on when l have a passenger and sometimes it is off. Shouldnt it only indicate ''OFF'' when there is no one in the passenger seat? l find it unsafe that my passenger airbag is off when someone is on the passenger side, godforbid l were to get into an accident. Anyone else have these problems?

Ok, You probably have the 2005 MIN l Cooper automatic do not you. the light forawrd lunging motion u feel is pretty normal for the CVT(which is the worst automatic transmission MIN l Has ever made). It is not because it is a 4 cylinder car. Your friends do not know too much if they r sayin that. The best way to get anywhere witht he CVT transmission is to put ur foot all the way into it. ( l know l have one). You will get used to it. But, l would start saving money & get a newer MINI. THE CVT is highly prone to failing. The 2007-2009 MIN l automatics r 1000 times better.
The airbag light is a bigger issue. Take it back to the dealership & have them check out the SRS light (airbag light).
