I am thinking of buying a BMW the main reason is for the pleasure of driving.

l was able to find a new 328i coupe for about $50,000 here in Saudi Arabia.

Then l hesitated, is it really worth putting all that money for the pleasure of driving?

And more money in the future for maintenance?

Or should l buy a used one for $15,000 after maintenance?

But then l would lose the glamour factor.

What should l do?

Cars usually stay with me 7 to 8 years.

If you keep a car for that long.buy new. Or recently used..1 year off the lot should be significant price difference and still under warranty. It is a well made car and you will love it.

hmm in canada its 30% cheaper car if its out of showrrom even for 2 hour the price decrease imdetly l would suggest buy couple month old or a year old l bet price will be hell cheaper ,

i just porshe cayyne for 45K 2007 and low mileage tell me abt it , 2008 will cost me 90K in cananada ,

if cars usually last you 7 to 8 years you should get the new one, it may be more expensive but for 15000 you could not get one newer than an 02 or 03 no matter what model so chances of problems is a lot higher than a used one. l woud get the new one if you can truely afford it.

It all depends on it you can afford it and what you want. A new one is nice, but an older 330 with low mileage for instance may be better price wise and maintenance wise.

Buy a used one as long as its 1988 and older to be safe. You buy newer your looking at a heap of huge repair bills before you done with it.
l just say that because l have been working with BMWs for 20 years now and l have seen the old ones go on and on and the newer ones hit the junk yard all to often.

7-8 years is a long time for a car so ur best off buying new & having a full warranty,

dunno about ur country but bmw north america gives its customers 4 year 50,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty & maintenance, oil changes, brakes etc.. talk to ur dealer

but on the other hand, if u really wanna drive for fun, get a used model & fix it up, better tires, brakes, add bars, chips, exhaust etc. that might be worth it as well depending on what u call fun.
