l own a 2004 M3 SMG, l have about 52k miles on it, and l noticed yesterday when l left the shopping mall, the drivelogic failure light came on in my dashboard, the car would not shift in SMG mode, but would shift fine in Manual mode. l made it home safely because l lived right around the block. l refuse to drive it anymore until l get it serviced on. Has this happen to anyone??

While it does not frequently happen, yes BMW is SMG does fail once in a while. And there is nothing best to do than to bring it to a dealer or an independent shop that has officially trained technicians equipped with genuine BMW diagnostic equipment.
It can be a problem with the SMG control module, or a gear position sensor, or the oil level, or the pump. All of the aforementioned can never be repaired by wistful thinking by well meaning answerers.
