the battery hasnt been acting up so, l dont know whats wrong. everything else works! it doesnt attempt to crank at all

well l have 2 guesses
-dead battery. sometimes other things will work,but the car wont try to turn over so you could try jumping it or charging the battery
-maybe your silent alarm or whatever you car has was tripped and it went to a ''safe mode'' or whatever and cut the ignition

you could also try turning the key on or off 5 or 6 times and see if that makes a difference. good luck

My guess would be a dead battery. The battery in my 97 328i died last winter. l would turn the key, and all the gauges and lights, and some alarms/beeps went crazy and the car would not start. Check the battery.
