Looking for new Mini Cooper.Can Mini owners tell me how is the gas mileage actually on the road?Any down/up sides on Mini Cooper?

l have a Cooper S Conv with JCW. l get between 25 & 27 when l take it easy & between 20 & 23 when l drive it hard. It is difficult not to drive it hard as this car is just so much fun.
A buddy of mine has a 2008 regular Cooper & he gets close to 40. The new Cooper has a completely different engine as does the new Cooper S. Both get substantially better fuel mileage with these new engines.
The new ones r also much quieter & the ride is less harsh. l prefer the ''scream'' of mine with the Supercharged W11 engine vs. the new N14 Turbo engine.
People always stop me to ask about my car & l always say it is impossible to drive this car without a smile on ur face. :)
