Hmmm. This could be something like fuel pump or fuel filter. when u go out & try to restart it the pressure is low but when u let it sit it is fine.
When it will not start pull a plug wire & hold it (with insulated pliers) to a ground if it pops & sparks Then that is one down. Next see if there is fuel in the fuel rail. There is a small valve on it push it & see if fuel squirts out. DON'T need much just that it is pressurized. The third thing would be the MAF (mass airt flow sensor) get some cleaner & clean it out. THat is a good start. You might look up My Bro who has 2 bimmers he has rebuilt & restored. along with a Pantera & he owns a large Repair business. He is Uncle Red here on .. He can come up with stuff l say Oh Gee l did not think of that!!!

First l understand this is a problem that shows up after the first start in the morning..

IF the car has spark when the car is NOT starting its a good chance the fuel pressure regulator is shot. Sometimes when they go bad the fuel circulation can not get started again past the regulator. When this happens l like to pull the fuel relay & put in a relay l have that has the top taken off of it & use my finger to pulse the fuel pump. On a working fuel pump circulation system when u turn just the fuel pumps on u will hear a flow of gas going past the regulator & thru the lines. If this is the problem & u get a fuel flow going u then can have somebody crank the car & it should start. So then u will know the reg is bad.
Now the fuel pump can be bad to these pumps typically r a work or no work pump. Either its good or bad. BUT sometimes when they r going bad they work sometimes, either way the pump or pumps need to be replaced. l said ''pumps before'' that car has 2 fuel pumps one in the tank under the back seat under a 3 screw round black plate the other is under the car in the rear above one of the drive CV axles, l can not remember what side. When the intank pump is not working the main pump gets over worked.

If u r not getting spark the computer is dead. This happens a lot on the 325's. What may be happening is the heat generated by the computer its self is expanding the circuit board & a connection is lost then when u want to restart the engine the computers crank mode does not work. Sometimes on the stick cars u can compression start the car when it will not start the regular way.
