l am in need of a new set of winter tires for my Mini Cooper S.l run a 15x6.5 Mille Miglia rim in the winter and l have previously used Blizzak WS-50s (on an '89 E30 BMW) and a set of Michelin X-Ice (on the E30 BMW and on the Mini).

Now l am looking for a new set of tires and l honestly cannot decide.l am considering Blizzak WS-60's, Michelin X-Ice's, and Nokian Hakkapelitta RSi's.l am, of course, open to suggestions from other Mini owners or from owners of other similarly sized/performing cars.

l will be driving in no snow, light snow, deep snow (not very deep, but maybe as much as 4''-6,'' hopefully not, but sometimes things are unpredictable in a northern winter), ice, and slush.l am looking for a good winter tire for a Mini Cooper S that can handle whatever winter throws.Studded tires are illegal in my state, so l need a studdless winter tire.

Unless you're planing on driving in deep snow you wo not need them. Your Cooper S is no E30, and handles great in the snow with regular all- season tires.

Here in the northern mid-west I've driven with the all season tires in the winter w/o issue for the most part. However you will most likely get a variety of on tire choice. l can also say that the Blizzak tire is a excellent choice and l use them. Would recommend them and get them again.
