Hello, l have a mazda 6 and l really do not care for it. It was my first car, and before everyone says l am a brat for wanting to trade in, l must say it sucks gas. l really like the early 2000 models of the Bmw 325i and 525i. l would prefer a 3 since it is smaller, but the 5 is are usually cheaper and nicer than a 3. Do these cars get good gas mileage, and are they good cars? Idk l have never liked my car l thought it was an old man is car and both my parents have Mercedes so l was used to those and now its just boring. l know l am a spoiled brat you do not have to tell me.

The insurance will be rather expensive. And l think with how things are, money can be put away for your future.

But who am l to tell you this--let them buy you one but stay safe.

l have a 2000 BMW 323i & love it!!! It is a rear wheel drive car. That means if u know how to drive it, it feels so good & exhilarating when u turn at a sharp corner. While everyone else who has a FWD or AWD have to slow down & hit the brakes at the corner. l actually step on the GAS as l turn! You have to be driving about 45 (or whatever u feel safe based on the road condition) as u approach the corner & hit the gas oh man what a joy of driving. Anyways, l get about 29 mpg highway & 20 mpg city. l guess if u do not drive like a maniac all the time, u can get about almost 400 miles for the entire tank of gas. Mine is 16 gallons (14 gallons with a 2 gallon reserve after ur light comes on). The drawback is that they recommend u use a premium gasoline. For maintenance, this car is very reliable. Make sure u take it for a routine oil service, inspection, etc. The on board computer calculates the mileage before next service or inspection according to ur driving style. If u drive like a nut or in a stop & go traffic, then the number counts down a lot faster. If ur miles r freeway miles, then the countdown is a little slower. Oh, & BMW dealership offers free maintenance for new cars for up to 4 years/50k miles whichever comes first. If you're gonna buy a pre-owned one, it is gonna cost u quite a bit when u take it to dealership. Personally, l do not feel comfortable taking it to JeffyLube or whatever. German cars r very different in the engine compartment & technicians not specialize in BMW just do not know about it too much. Parts r very expensive too because most people drive a Honda, Toyota so they make more parts for those cars. Most BMW parts r from Germany. So, that is the hidden cost of ownership.

But the bottom line is that it is a very fun car to drive & a chick magnet haha. So, if u can afford it, go for it. l love my car though.. gonna be kinda sad to sell it when l buy another car. But my next car is gonna be another beemer. l am a big fan u can tell. Mercedes is okay, but only old people like my parents drive that. Oh & yours too apparently. Ok, good luck with that.

Simple answer: Yes. You will love it, & if u listen to the first idiot that says insurance is high that ur an idiot cause insurance is low. l have a 2008 X5, 2008 750Li, & the 335i & the insurance is great, & it is a blast to drive. Each car is great, offering top quality, performance, & handling. It is a drivers car. Ehhh, a 2000 3-series ai not exactly wow.. l am no kid, im out of my parents house. l bought them cause l was smart, made money & now relaxing. Do yourself a favor, drop the 2000 is & go for a 2003 BMW 330i & when u get the money get a ZHP Performance Package ''KIT!'' l mean kit cause u aint getting a ZHP from anywhere EVER!

Simple answer YES! Every one of the 3 I've owned has been excellent! Just for the record, TK it is Bimmer. Beemer is a motorcycle. Unles that is what you meant. Then you are in the wrong forum.
