How do can I reset the oil change indicator on my 2004 BMW 525i car

remove the battery cable for like 5/7 mins, and put it back on! it should do! l did it with my 528 1999!

get in ur vehicle & close the door. turn ur key to the second position (when all the lights come on in the cluster/position right before u crank over) wait till the center display in ur cluster goes back to the time display.
push & HOLD the left side reset button till the oil can/next service item due comes up in the center display of the cluster.
once the oil can comes up with the miles remaining, push the reset button once to confirm reset (it will say ''reset?'') then puch & hold again the left side reset button on the cluster. ur service indicator should then say about 15k miles.
do not remove ur battery cables, this will do nothing to reset ur cbs (service data) it will just loose ur clock & date
it will work because l work on these cars all day long dumb ass.

LOL removing the batt cable will not reset this light unless his mem hold system is bad.. You can do it with a 2 inch piece of wire. But the wire method will not reset the service indicator. the 2004 does not have a reset port under the hood you need a big time big bucks computer tool for that.

l will try that ''nothing good to say'' guys method but l highly doubt it will work.

Depress the left dashboard stalk just like the other poster stated, and follow his instructions.
