These are great driving cars as long as they have been taken care of. The primary problem is the body because they are very prone to rust. Especially in the rear around where the battery sits. Make sure this area is in good shape. Excellent engine and if the car has been treated decently, they will go 250K miles without any major problems. That is assuming it is not an automatic.

so long as its taken care of the are great cars. l know of a few that have 300k+ on them

Great idea, the car is considered by many to be a modern classic, if it is a good one then snap it up.

My E30 318is was great but the engine died on me due to oil pump failure. l now have a 325i engine in there & it is excellent.

The drive of the E30 shape is fun & very oldschool. Raw & enjoyable.

The I6 growl of the 2.5L engine is superb & pulls nicely, the M-tech suspension is great & the car looks timeless.

If u have a good shell then u will be happy. As mentioned earlier the body is the easiest part to let slide (but make sure the engine is well looked after too!)

One of the main differences u will notice in ur 325i Sport compared to my 318is which has become a 325i Sport in essence is better weight distribution, as my battery remains up front for the moment.

l cannot see anything wrong with going for this car, just bear in mind it is old & u will need to spend some money keeping it maintained.

Prevention being better than cure regular servicing & oil changes with body work checks occasionally to give peace of mind will mean u will spot anything early enough to avoid it getting worse. Should provide lots of years of happy motoring.

Check for head gasket failure and warped heads apart from that fairly bullet proof.

As l have said before about 325i is many times the heads crack on those cars. It happens to every car no matter how well it was maintained. The good news is the heads can be repaired by welding the cracks most of the time. The computers right now r all dying its just there time l guess.
Being a sport is really not all that impressive its the same as a ''i'' bu it has or should have Bilstein shocks a couple of spoilers & some sport seats with an adjustable leg support.
The 325e is the best of the bunch its only real fault is the timing belt. When it goes bad at anytime either at just cranking or driving at any speed the whole engine is junk. EVERY TIME .
