my bmw sunroof stop working
any idea why they stop working?
it is 1998 BMW 323is

check the fuse ,maybe worn brushes at the motor. just cut the top off you dont need it. you wanted a sun roof right?

Ruthless is right that u have to start by looking at the fuse. If none has blown relevant to the sunroof, the switch might be bad. Or the motor (drive unit with control module) may have taken a dive.
In many cases, one of the cassette frame is various parts become defective & does not allow the glass to move (and automatically makes the control module cut off power to the motor).
If when u switch it on u hear the motor trying to turn, then it is most probably the last scenario. And this is not a DIY affair.
Bring it to a reputable BMW shop.
